The Financial Analyst (SFA) will be responsible for developing, generating and consolidating reporting to meet the weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines for the Energy, which includes both operational and financial metrics. The role requires the SFA to analyze the results and work with the plant locations to provide explanations of results to be presented to Division leadership. Other duties will include: data extraction, report writing, process improvements, SOX and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate internal reporting requirements across the division.
  • Manage the coordination and development of the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process in support of division and corporate reporting timelines, up through and including submittal to Corporate.
  • Develop and maintain processes for reporting daily and weekly financial and operational metrics in support of management team in accordance with corporate requirements and guidelines. Serve as FCCS, PBCS, OAC admin, maintaining all metadata, rules, scripts, and other components of the application adhering to Division and Corporate policies.
  • Assist with ad hoc analytical requirements as needed.
  • Cash/inventory reporting and related consolidation and analysis for daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required.
  • Complete special projects and participate in process improvement activities and related analysis.
  • Gather requirements to design, build, and implement standardized processes for management reporting.
  • Analyze and report on Balance Sheet and Income Statement variances, identify root causes and provide executive summary to Division leadership.
  • Serve as backup for other Metals Group FPA functions, as required.
  • Document system processes and assist in user training.
  • Assist with continuous improvement of division analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain direct link to plant FPA teams to develop, maintain, and improve internal reporting capability and accuracy.

Desired Skills

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of all MS Office applications and internet applications, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of self-motivation to perform and succeed.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Understanding of Financial Accounting Standards (FAS)
  • Experience with financial management systems such as Oracle EPM Cloud and SAP preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.

Education & Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience within an accounting and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Degree in accounting or business-related field.
