Our Finance headquarters are located in Winnipeg, Canada where the accounting function is performed centrally for our facilities in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Generating over $4.0 billion in sales, the successful candidate will be exposed to accounting and operations on a global scale and build the unique knowledge and expertise of one of the world’s largest independent maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) providers.
What You’ll Do
- Perform professional accounting work in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements.
- Maintain general ledger accounts with a high degree of accuracy.
- Preparation of monthly journal entries.
- Prepare, review, and file accurate and timely federal, state/provincial (e.g., US sales & use, GST/HST)
- Reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Participate in interim and year-end audit activities providing support and guidance as required.
- Assist in the preparation of various internal and external reporting requirements including quarterly working papers and financial statement disclosure.
- Interact with and advise various functional groups and remote locations.
- Promote teamwork, cooperation and effective communication within the finance department.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis.
- Holds (or is actively pursuing) a recognized professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA). Individuals with an equivalent mix of experience and education will also be considered.
Preferred Characteristics
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP)
- Proficiency in MS Office with a strong understanding of Excel.
- Experience with public company reporting requirements is an asset
- Working knowledge of Oracle an asset.
- Experience filing GST/HST, PST and US Sales & Use is an asset
- Strong attention to detail with interest in process improvement.
- Ability to work independently - multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities in order to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
