Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) Afterspanet Business is responsible for commercial maintenance agreements covering jet engines across the Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines portfolio. The GTF Maintenance Cost Group (“MCG”), in the GTF Global Network and Cost Management Organization, develops and maintains shop visit forecasting models that:
are used to determine the financial impact of maintenance agreements for new sales and existing engine maintenance contracts.
provide senior management with strategic guidance to improve returns for the GTF Program.
MCG’s main tool, the Interval Cost Estimator (“ICE”) is a Monte Carlo simulation of engine operation and maintenance. MCG is looking for a Maintenance Cost Modeling Analyst who will focus on advancing MCG’s maintenance cost forecasting models. The selected candidate will work with both the current ICE3 and future ICE NextGen simulation models/platforms.
What You Will Do:
Developing and adding functionality to (Python) ICE NG Maintenance Cost Simulation model to meet changing business needs.
Necessary maintaining of sunsetting ICE 3.0 Maintenance Cost Simulation model.
Extracting and analyzing actuals data to calibrate forecasting models.
What You Will Learn:
Improving maintenance cost forecasting processes, for both ICE3.0 and ICE NextGen, to improve forecast accuracy and process efficiency.
Educating forecast model users on how the model is working, how to put in the proper inputs, and troubleshoot issues they are not able to resolve.
Educating forecast customers on modeling concepts, input assumptions, complexity, and the correct interpretation of results.
Teaming with multiple groups such as Finance, Engineering, Afterspanet, and Engine Program Management to identify emerging afterspanet issues and incorporate these concerns into forecasting models.
Liaising with technical organizations such as Engineering, Powerplant Engineering and Fleet Management to identify risk and opportunity items that might impact maintenance cost and determining maintenance cost impacts to those items.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in operations research, engineering, mathematics, computer science or technical related field and 2 years of experience to include analytical problem solving.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Python.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Understanding and competence regarding statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
Experience adding core functionality to aircraft engine maintenance discrete event simulation models.
Engine related experience regarding general knowledge of failure and wear mechanisms of jet engine parts.
Demonstrated ability to satisfy tool or project requirements through code framework development and implementation.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of the Structure Querying Language (SQL). (model outputs are stored in database)

This role is:
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
