Job Description SummaryThe primary function of the Tooling Procurement & Special Project role is to lead acquisition of Special Tooling, manage expense purchasing, and project management to assigned strategic projects (GE9X EIS & Maximo implementation, engine change kits), and provide analytics deliverables and operation support to the global On Wing Support network (7 shops).

       Provide management of expense purchases (SSS system entry, quote to purchase order to receipt acquisition) for global tooling organization, in collaboration with Sourcing.

       Lead GE9X entry to service readiness supporting reconciliation of existing assets, support customer and 3rd party commercial agreements, and responsible for execution of acquisition activities for new requirements (line maintenance, QT CIS shop workscopes, and engine changes.  Represent On Wing Support (OWS) for tooling related matters in all pre- EIS operation mechs.

       Engine Change Kit Program Leader, including project manager to supplier for life cycle maintenance. 

       Develop and implement Kitting program.  Lead action plans to prepare and operationalize (i.e. Gearbox, Pedestals, Top Case, SB campaigns).  5S and pre-stage for immediate deployment by technicians in field.

       Assist with SOP documentation preparation and revision-controlled release and distribution.   Liaison and primary interface to Quality, Standards, and Engineering organization for enhancing standard work procedures.

       Lead analytics & KPI accumulation and communication (financial, transportation, calibration compliance, warehousing & inventory, supplier delivery performance.  

       Develop action plan and lead P&E fixed asset global implementation of Maximo platform.

       Facilitate monthly CTSI billing, and provide support to outlier issue resolution.

       Focal and team representation for compliance.  Maintain open communication, actively participate in meetings, lead training, and support reporting incident investigations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree or High School diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working directly with aviation special tooling required.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Fixed Asset expertise & knowledge of GE Aviation systems.

  • Purchasing experience, Field Service, Supply Chain, or Aviation engine shop experience.

The salary range for this position is $70K - $115K USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.  This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary / commission based on the plan.  This posting is expected to close on April 30th.
