Introduction:
Boeing Defence United Kingdom is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the UK team based out of either Gosport or Bristol, providing key financial support and analysis to key defence programmes.

About the role:

This role is within a business which is in an exciting phase of growth, with offices in multiple sites across the UK. The opportunity allows for some virtual or hybrid working depending on business needs.

You will work closely with cross functional teams, interacting and collaborating with other functions including: Programme Management, Business Development, Engineering, Commercial and Supply Chain. You will also work closely with other elements of the UK&I Finance & Commercial team such as Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops resource forecasts and/or Estimates at Completion (EACs) for control accounts, budgets, functions or pools; financial EACs for contracts or programs.
  • Initiates analysis of: resource forecasts and/or control account EACs; financial EACs.
  • Compiles data from multiple sources and develops performance reports.
  • Initiates variance analyses and provides understanding of operational and financial performance to management.
  • Makes recommendations to management on financial performance projections using financial and business knowledge and experience.
  • Develops, reviews, analyzes and maintains cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value, and variance analyses and communicates cost and/or schedule trends.
  • Develops business cases using appropriate indices.

Desirable qualifications: 

  • A self-starter, comfortable with establishing required reporting drumbeats and processes
  • Experience in Financial Operations/Project Accounting 
  • Business (Financial) understanding
  • Strong Written and Oral Communication skills
  • Focus on Customer satisfaction
  • IT proficient (particularly Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience of using SAP
  • Qualified Accountant, or similar background in Accounting, Economics, Business, Finance or Project Accounting/Controlling preferred
