Job Description
As an Aircraft Seat and Upholstery Technician, you will focus on maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft seating systems. You will also create and install high-quality upholstery for various aircraft components. Working alongside a team of experienced professionals, you will ensure that every detail, from structural integrity to quality stitching and finishing touches, meets the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic stripping operations of fabric from aircraft surfaces to prepare for remodeling and recovering.
- Work with leather and fabrics to refurbish aircraft seating to high-quality levels.
- Pattern, cut, sew, cement, and trim upholstery fabrics for drapery, divans, chairs, headliners, side panels, containers, and engine and propeller covers.
- Assist in covering flight control surfaces.
- Perform routine and complex sewing operations.
- Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of Aircraft Seat Technician experience.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Aviation experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Military experience is a plus.
- Automotive seat techs may be considered.

Work Environment
Candidates will work primarily inside a hangar, which is clean and temperature-controlled. The work schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with current hours being 5 days of 10-hour shifts due to high demand. The facility shares a runway with the Quad Cities International Airport, located in Moline, IL, part of the dynamic Quad Cities metropolitan area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milan, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
