JOB TITLE: Senior Upholstery Technician

Summary:
Independently design, fabricate, and install upholstery and trim items in aircraft interiors.
Assist the Shop Lead by managing projects and mentoring team members.
Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains, and various assemblies/subassemblies.
Interpret material specifications and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements.
Sew, fabricate, and install covers for interior panels, maintaining quality and safety standards.
Utilize the material tracking system (Corridor) to create part demands, track squawks, and sign off work.
Cut and install complex, custom-designed carpets based on unique patterns and drawings.
Act as Lead when needed-oversee projects and assign tasks.
Conduct and support safety audits.
Maintain shop equipment and related safety documentation (JSAs).
Uphold Safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards; ensure protection of aircraft interiors (PTP).
Mentor and train less experienced technicians, ensuring quality and productivity.
Collaborate with Leads and senior staff to implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma tools.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
4 years of upholstery experience, including at least 2 years in aircraft upholstery; or 6 years of commercial upholstery experience.
Advanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing processes, materials, and/or advanced carpet installation techniques, including custom designs.
Familiarity with inspection standards and terminology.
Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
Computer literacy required.
Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift.
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
