Fabricate, sew, and glue various fabrics and materials to assemble aircraft interior components, upholstery, and trim items, according to specifications, using hand tools, power tools, sewing machines, and shop equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESManufacture and sew aircraft interior componentsInspect incoming materialsMake templates and patterns for manufacturing and sewing of interior componentsMeasure, cut, layout, and sew various materialsGlue and apply foam; apply and finish wrap materials to interior panels and componentsSelf-inspect and obtain sign-off for work performedOTHERDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare reports and maintain related work documentsClean and maintain work areas and equipmentAssist with interior installation if neededAssist with or perform administrative duties as requiredRespond to additional duties, projects and tasks as assigned by ManagerAvailability to work overtime as required
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONSQualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, pass prior work history verification, pre-employment drug screening and TSA clearance requirements.High school diploma or equivalent3 years upholstery experience requiredAble to work with hazardous chemicalsExperience applying various fabrics, leathers and materials for upholstery workWorking knowledge in the operation of various hand tools (spray guns, sanders, grinders, saws, drill press, sewing machines, etc.)Aircraft, automotive, and/or marine upholstery experience a plusAbility to read and follow blueprints and engineering drawingsAbility to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs.Strong attention to high quality, detailed workPatience and willingness to perform repetitive routinesBasic computer skills.
