Job Summary

We are seeking an Upholstery Technician to fabricate and install upholstery, cover panels, and make simple patterns for aircraft interiors. The successful candidate will have experience with commercial sewing machines and hand tools.

Key Responsibilities

Upholstery Fabrication: Fabricate and install upholstery, cover panels, and other interior components for aircraft.

Pattern Making: Create simple patterns for aircraft interiors using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications.

Installation: Install panels, windows, cabin head liners, and other interior components.

Material Management: Use material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Experience with commercial sewing machines, sergers, and/or hand tools used in upholstery and carpet trades is preferred.

Skills:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations.

Computer literacy.

Ability to work in small restricted areas, climb ladders and stairs, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Performance Expectations

Quality Workmanship: Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in fabricating and installing upholstery and interior components.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with design/engineering drawings, aircraft specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Teamwork: Work effectively with other technicians and production staff to meet production schedules and deadlines.

Safety: Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Uniform Policy

Uniform Requirements: Purchase uniforms from designated supplier (CINTAS).

Interim Attire: Wear navy-blue shirt/t-shirt and blue work pants/shorts (no denim) prior to receiving uniforms.

3 Flat front pants

2 Face masks (in case the mask mandate returns)

Safety Shoes: Steel-toed shoes required for job duties.
