JOB SUMMARY:
This is a 2026 summer internship in our Manufacturing Engineering department. The intern will work with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and the production organizations to improve the installation instructions for aircraft completions systems and components. The intern will identify non-quality risks and identify new checkpoints to avoid rework. In addition, the intern will work with stakeholders to create value stream maps for production installation and evaluate the most efficient sequence of installation and testing operations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Demonstrate an understanding of the aircraft component production processes for detailed parts.
- Identify parts manufacturing that will require new universal holding fixtures.
- Propose processes to allow for agile manufacturing that are acceptable to quality assurance and supply chain tools and processes.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university seeking an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or other engineering related field, and must reside in the United States.
- Must be at least a sophomore status.
- Strong capability to analyze and make synthesis
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft excel, word, power point,
- 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, CATIA V5, or similar)
- Strong communication skills, written and oral and the ability to create and clearly present new ideas or concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
COMPENSATION:
The compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime.
