Schedule: Monday–Friday First Shift, (7 AM–4 PM or 8 AM–5 PM)
Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Contract)
Pay Rate: $32.35 per hour

About the RolePDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Direct Buyer Specialist to support procurement operations for a leader in the aerospace industry. In this role, you will ensure timely material flow, manage supplier relationships, and support production teams to maintain schedule, quality, and cost targets. Your work directly contributes to operational continuity, customer satisfaction, and supply chain excellence.
What You’ll DoExecute procurement processes including RFQs, purchase orders, engineering changes, work transfers, and metrics reporting.
Serve as the primary point of contact for production teams, responding to inquiries on order status, changes, or cancellations.
Manage purchasing activities for materials, goods, services, and supplies.
Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Program teams to resolve medium to complex supply chain challenges.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to prevent production delays or line stop situations.
Negotiate pricing, oversee purchase order execution, and support payment approvals.
Analyze quotes and financial data to make informed procurement decisions.
Monitor supplier contract performance to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
Coordinate with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve issues related to shortages or delays.
Own supplier relationship management for assigned commodities.
Apply continuous improvement methodologies to strengthen procurement efficiency and performance.
Support delivery assurance efforts, ensuring on time, high quality, and cost effective outcomes.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree
Prior experience in procurement, supply chain, or related operations
Strong negotiation capabilities and analytical skills
Experience managing suppliers and procurement activities
Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Strong communication and problem solving abilities
Ability to work onsite, first shift (7 AM–4 PM or 8 AM–5 PM)
Preferred QualificationsTechnical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand manufacturing processes
Aerospace industry experience or familiarity with aerospace standards
Demonstrated process improvement experience
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Tableau
Experience sourcing a wide range of commodities
Proven success navigating complex supplier negotiations
Background in ERP-driven procurement environments

Pay Details: $32.35 per hour
