Elevate Your Career in Strategic ProcurementPDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Direct Buyer Specialist to support a top-tier aerospace client in Lenexa, KS. This full-time, onsite, 6-month consulting role (with potential for extension or full-time hire) is a rare opportunity to take your supply chain expertise to new heights by working on cutting-edge oxygen systems for tactical aerospace applications. Youll be at the forefront of vendor management, procurement analytics, and operational efficiency—directly influencing mission-critical product delivery.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
What You’ll Be Doing – Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesIn this first-shift role (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), you’ll take ownership of high-impact procurement functions including:
Managing supplier relationships from PO creation through delivery and payment
Leading root cause analysis using methodologies like 5 Whys to resolve chronic supply issues
Performing deep-dive data analysis in SAP, with reporting support from BI tools and Tableau
Negotiating prices, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring on-time, quality deliveries
Issuing and tracking RFPs, RFQs, and executing cost analyses
Acting as the go-to liaison for order status, changes, and cancellations
Identifying trends, risks, and proactive solutions to improve sourcing and mitigate disruptions
Collaborating cross-functionally with planners, stakeholders, and leadership
Ensuring compliance with contract terms and customer satisfaction throughout the supply chain lifecycle
What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field
6–10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related discipline
At least 2 years of high-level SAP experience
Experience with strategic sourcing, expediting, vendor relations
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks with precision in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Tableau, BI Reporting tools
Advanced data analysis and supply chain forecasting skills
Broad exposure across procurement roles (strategic, tactical, delivery assurance)

Pay Details: $40.30 per hour
