As our Engines Material Planner, you’ll work across our logistics, supply chain and production operations, to support complex turbofan engine maintenance and overhaul work. Youll work alongside talented professionals, develop and grow vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and manage inventory, to ensure we have what we need, when we need it.
About Us:
StandardAero Augusta is a Business Aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) facility, specialized to support an extensive range of aircraft models, including renowned brands such as Falcon, Hawker, Challenger, Gulfstream, and Embraer. With a significant 80,500 sq ft expansion opening later this month, we’re doubling our footprint at AGS. Our facility focuses on 22 models of aircraft on the Airframe side, while our Engine Shop performs comprehensive overhauls on Honeywell HTF7000 and TFE731 engines, APUs, and performs diagnostics in our state-of-the-art Test Cells. What You’ll Do:Manage and monitor inventory levels, using ABC analysis and other forecasting tools to align with cost, quality, and delivery goals.
Coordinate procurement and planning for all assigned materials, based on usage forecasts, replacement percentages, and alternate parts availability.
Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations to ensure competitive pricing, quality standards, and lead times are met.
Support internal customers by providing materials data, researching part alternatives, and assisting in technical purchasing decisions.
Expedite purchase orders and backorders to meet critical deadlines, including AOG situations.
Oversee data integrity within inventory systems by maintaining item master files, alternate part data, and cost records.
Coordinate damaged goods returns and ensure proper credit/replacement processes are followed.
Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies uncovered during cycle counts and audits.
Participate in supplier development by sourcing new vendors, negotiating pricing and delivery terms, and maintaining supplier qualification records.
Support business unit decisions by recommending enhancements to material planning systems, policies, and procedures.
Train and mentor junior buyers/planners and contribute to team development.
Collaborate with logistics to prioritize incoming material shipments and identify freight optimization opportunities.
Track and report key supply chain performance metrics, such as inventory turns, supplier performance, fill rates, and shortage trends.
Maintain a strong commitment to safety and compliance, immediately reporting any unsafe practices or conditions.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Materials Planning or Procurement
Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, most importantly Excel.
Technical systems experience utilizing, SAP, ILS, PartSpace, AS400, ERP, WMS, MRP, or comparable software platforms
Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills with excellent attention to detail.
Solid understanding of inventory control principles, purchasing practices, and production workflows.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals, engineering documents, and company procedures.
Completion of relevant professional certifications (e.g., APICS, PMAC, CPM, CMA).
Experience in the aerospace industry, especially with Honeywell turbofan engines.
