What are your contributions to the team?
Knowledge of USMCA Trade agreements, import/export rules, regulations, and processes.
Maintain and update compliance manuals, SOPs, and internal controls
Conduct internal compliance audits and report risk and improvement actions to leadership
Monitor and communicate updates in FTZ regulations and tariff schedules
Review Customs and International Bonds as required
Provide Transportation routing guidance for internal customers
Coordinate and manage special trade programs such as NAFTA
Monitor compliance with Trade Compliance policy and provide technical expertise for all domestic Bombardier sites
Responsible for answering inquiries from U.S. Customs and Border Protection
Coordinate surface freight, air freight, and vessel shipments to and from vendors, customer and company locations in a timely and cost effective manner, including delivery of structural pieces, and the return of structural fixtures or crates
Determine the most cost effective methods of preparation of freight for shipment, rates to be applied and mode of transportation to be used
Coordinate meetings with Legal, Finance, Taxation, outside counsel, and Suppliers regarding Customs laws and regulations
How to thrive in this role?
5+ years of experience and a strong knowledge of Foreign Trade Zones, trade compliance, and customs regulations.
BS in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
Certification in Customs Compliance (CUSECO, CCS, or similar).
Familiarity with C-TPAT, EAR, ITAR, and other trade compliance programs.
Experience with ACE data and duty drawback processes.
HTS/Schedule B code classification knowledge.
