Role Summary
* The Fabricator Prototype BFTC supports experimental and flight test operations by fabricating, modifying, assembling, and testing aircraft components and systems. This role works closely with engineering and production teams to build prototypes and experimental equipment while maintaining accurate records, supporting testing activities, and ensuring compliance with engineering and safety requirements. Education & Job Requirements
* You must have
* Basic knowledge of aircraft systems.
* Working knowledge of the fabrication of sheet metal and composite components, aircraft parts, and ground support equipment using engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, or verbal instructions.
* Working knowledge of reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals.
* Working knowledge of test preparation systems.
* Working knowledge of manuals required to perform the job, including aircraft maintenance manuals, manufacturing manuals, equipment manuals, parts catalogs, and applicable regulatory documents.
* Working knowledge of flight-line ground safety procedures.
* The ability to obtain and renew required certifications, including crane, power lift, forklift, bonding, and sealing certifications.
* Advanced sheet metal skills.
* Advanced composite skills.
* The ability to use and interpret precision measurement instruments. Preferred Skills

* The skills required to perform flat pattern layouts.
* The skills required to use basic hand tools are necessary to perform assigned work.
* The skills required to measure using a variety of basic and physical measuring devices.
* The skills required to fabricate and assemble detailed parts and components.

* The skills required to troubleshoot aircraft test systems and repair aircraft test equipment discrepancies.
* Mechanical ability to use hand tools such as rivet guns, drill presses, surface grinders, belt sanders, sheet metal rollers, and angled drills.
* Mechanical ability to operate powered shop equipment, including shears, band saws, and brakes. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able
* Adhere to general work requirements.
* Perform final assembly on experimental equipment and tire build-up for flight test on designated aircraft.
* Modify flight test aircraft components in accordance with engineering requirements.
* Assist production teams with building and assembling the first article, designated aircraft, and experimental or production equipment.
* Perform minor fabrication and modification of production aircraft parts in accordance with developmental or engineering specifications.
* Fabricate and modify experimental aircraft parts in accordance with experimental engineering specifications.
* Maintain records of changes, inspections, and tire history within fabrication and tire shop areas.
* Assist engineering with revising functional test procedures as required.
* Set up fixtures to perform static, fatigue, pressure, and bird strike tests and assemble aircraft sections for testing as required.
* Perform nondestructive and destructive testing, including cycle tests and ultimate load tests.
* Assist with aircraft mock-ups in accordance with various flight test configurations.
* Perform aircraft testing at off-site locations in support of other divisions and client needs as required.
* Inspect, maintain, and repair ground support equipment as required.
* Assist with the installation of experimental parts on various aircraft as required.
* Order parts and materials necessary for mock-up, assembly, and installation activities in accordance with experimental engineering drawings.
