Flowline Material Handler 2 - 1st shift

Job Description

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency.

• 1 year material handling or manufacturing experience.

• Willingness and ability to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (rulers, tape measures, etc.)

• Willingness and ability to use basic computer applications.

• Basic understanding of process instructions.

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, etc.) and metric conversions (i.e. scale conversions).

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.  GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Perform intermediate oracle transactions and associated order paperwork.

• Possess specific knowledge in area of department.

• Separate parts according to work order instructions for delivery to manufacturing.

• Special handling of parts with cure date / shelf life/ expire dates.

• Process scrap tickets for the area.

• Research & correct inventory variances.

• Track consumable supply inventory (i.e. – boxes, bags, packing material, etc.).

• Must be comfortable multi-tasking and working within deadlines.

• Receive guidance from higher level employees.

• Cross train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.

• Compliantly complete all written and / or electronic labor tracking documentation.

• Keep all shift operators informed of special problems involving operation or set up.

• Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issues.

• Work extended and flexible hours as needed to support business needs including working weekends and / or extended shifts.

• Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach/Team Leaders.

• Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.

• Participate in and support team initiatives.

• Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures per position requirements.

• Understand and abides by the GE Leadership behaviors.

• Other duties as be required.

• Flexibility in schedule to work overtime as required.

• Possess knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel Power Point, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition.

• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.

• Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift to 20 lbs.; ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.

The pay for this position is $19/hour. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
