Role Overview
At Boeing Sheffield we are looking for a parts wash/hand finisher, reporting into the Operations Manager.
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
Ensuring parts are washed or hand finished to the correct standard
Working in line with production requirements and priorities
Visual inspection of parts for defects
Using computer systems to book completion of jobs.
Working safely with minimal supervision.
Ensure correct benching of components, including removal of sharp edges, cleaning of holes, use of orbital sanders, and hand de-burring to drawing and SOP requirements.
Ensure finishing of components to achieve ‘as drawn’ features
Part span or ident product as per specifications/instructions provided as necessary
Preferred Skills/Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in parts wash or hand finish roles in a manufacturing environment
- or Experience of cleaning to a high standard.
- Relevant experience or an industry qualification demonstrating use of power/air tools and bench/fettle processes
Working knowledge of specifications, SOP’s and Work Instructions
Demonstration of basic numeracy to read measuring equipment
Attention to detail and diligence (right first time)
Work with minimum supervision following instruction
Initiative in time management and method
Significant levels of concentration required
Good verbal communicator
Versatility and flexibility to support job requirements
