JOB OVERVIEW

The Hangar Support position reports to the Hangar Support Supervisor. The Hangar Support position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service in the following areas: ERP system data entry, materials handling, materials stocking, materials staging, controlled products handling, inventory management and housekeeping and administrative support for KF Aerospace. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Hangar Support position is responsible for the following key areas:

Materials Handling

Locating, issuing, and restocking Consumable and Rotable parts and supplies as requested by company personnel. This involves:

  • Utilizing the ERP system
  • Issuing material to specified projects as per standard operating procedures
  • Core processing
  • Issuing & returning tooling when working at the west, north and south counter or when providing support to the tool crib
  • Routing damaged tooling to the tool crib with supporting documentation

 

Materials Stocking

  • Ensuring accurate stocking and restocking of all stores materials
  • Preparing materials for stocking – including packaging and labeling
  • Unloading inventory carts and stocking materials in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure data maintained accurately within ERP system

 

Materials Staging

  • Ensuring requested materials are pulled and prepared for delivery in a timely and accurate manner
  • Picking and completing internal shop work order requests
  • Receiving, Staging, and completing other counter stock orders
  • Processing the Aircraft support bench requests
  • Pulling material for delivery to other counters
  • Processing orders for distribution to out bases
  • Completing material requisition orders to various shops and locations / aircraft huts

 

WHIMIS Products Handling

  • Ensuring that the labeling and stocking of hazardous goods or expired controlled items are conducted within established policy and procedures
  • Recognizing and correcting any deficiencies in labeling
  • Providing access to and interpretation of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as requested

 

Inventory Management and Housekeeping 

  • Ensure parts are in standard format for stocking and ready to be picked as needed
  • Ensure work area is clean, organized, and free from hazards
  • Arranging inventory in First in First Out (FIFO) order on shelf
  • Labels visible and outward facing on all materials
  • Regular housekeeping of counters, floors, shelves, and staff work areas
  • Reordering material with low stock levels if no safety stock set
  • Conduct inventory count spot checks for accuracy

 

Administrative Support

  • Functions as after hour’s switchboard
  • Address incoming calls for material movement during regular business hours
  • Provide administrative support and data entry to Counter Supervisor as required
  • Respond to support requests from other counters

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong sense of urgency and accuracy
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Strong initiative and multi-tasking skills
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office programs and Internet
  • Must be able to work rotational shift work (Days, Afternoons, Weekends)
  • Must be physically fit 
    • lifting aircraft parts and supplies up to around 50 lbs
    • standing for an extended period (up to 2 hours) 
    • constant reaching and bending to shelves 
    • climbing step ladders and stairs regularly to retrieve parts from the higher shelves
    • Must be able to move/respond quickly to job requirements
  • Previous work experience in a customer service, parts environment would be an asset
