About the role
As a Head of Material Management, Purchasing, & Tooling, you will be responsible for the storage and supply of approved aircraft parts, components, material, tools and equipment to support the scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities of Qatar Airways and all third-party customers. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all logistical activities are correctly certified and that all records are retained and stored safely for the designated statutory period. Support the SVP Maintenance and the department heads of Heavy Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Workshops, and Cabin/IFE in all supply chain related tasks including interfacing, monitoring, and coordinating with CAMO and Technical Procurement.
Other duties would include:
- Accountable for organization, maintenance and ongoing development of an efficient and cost-effective inventory control and material management ensuring correct and efficient planning, purchasing and storage of approved aircraft parts and material.
- Developing and managing the material supply chain team as per QCAA / EASA Part-145 and all other relevant statutory requirements.
- Developing and maintaining the quality and training standards in coordination with the VP Technical Procurement, VP Supply Chain and VP Technical Quality Assurance and Technical Training.
- Define the technical contractual maintenance and initial provisioning agreements with third party customers.
- Plan, control and administer the Supply Chain budget within agreed parameters.
- Management of all logistics comprising goods received, storage requirements, distribution of incoming and outgoing material, packing and shipping.
- Supply and storage of all approved aircraft parts, components, material, tools, and equipment, to support the maintenance of aircraft and/or components.
- Distribution of all approved aircraft parts, components, material, tools, and equipment to support all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
- Responsible for all relevant airworthiness documents and certifications ensuring they are received and processed in accordance with all QCAA / EASA statutory regulations.
- Establishes all logistic practices and procedures in compliance with QCAR / EASA Part 145 requirements and ensures a quality system is in place within supply chain to manage all logistical activities to the highest standards.
- Support the VP Technical Procurement and VP Supply Chain in negotiations and preparation of contracts concerning material purchase or component maintenance.
- Responsible for the repair cycle logistics of label booking, repair order administration and forwarding for repair and/or overhaul, the logistics of the subsequent return, storage and availability of all serviceable units.
- Performs the material incoming inspection system developing MOE and TPM procedures and the economic storekeeping of all materials.
- Accountable for safe and appropriate storage and retention of all supply chain activity in line with the designated statutory requirements of the QCAA / EASA.
- To support VP Technical Procurement and VP Supply Chain in observing, following and suppling all data necessary for the Qatar Airways Technical Approved Supplier / Vendor List.
- Addresses all quality deficiencies that are highlighted by independent audits within the areas of responsibility.
