This includes reviewing parts that you are assigned against the blueprints and process sheets to verify that they meet customer standards. You will also test all electrical components and measure them with an ohm meter, ruler, and micrometer. Any non-conforming parts will need to be sent back to the assembly team for repair or sent out for scrap if it is non-repairable.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Education or GED.

  • 3 years’ inspection experience in a Manufacturing environment

This position is 1st shift and the pay rate is $20.00/hr.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

  • At least 3-5 year of experience in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Ability to use basic hand tools (Dremel/cut off tooling) and measuring devices (i.e. dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.). 

  • Ability to perform electrical test methods (ohm meter, gauss meter, surge test, hi pot, etc.). 

  • Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation, including functional knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). 

  • Ability to pass visual acuity exam upon offer. 

  • Ability and willingness to obtain Braze, Weld, and Solder inspection certification as required. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a working knowledge of Final Assembly Electrical test, Final Production Inspection test, Final Assembly Mechanical Inspection, FPI or X-ray Inspection, and Source Inspection as required. 

  • Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirements. 

  • Develop strong understanding of GD&T and advanced measurement principles. 

  • Blueprint interpretation, electrical inspection, mechanical inspection, and procedural knowledge assessment completed. 

  • Identify and document non-conforming parts, while using Oracle to maintain inspection records. 

  • Use statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements. 

  • Assist support functions in root cause analysis. 

  • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products. 

  • Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of product deficiencies, new processes, or issues and provide feedback to appropriate support functions. 

  • Interact with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. Planners, Engineering, Suppliers) outside of home department. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100). 

  • Proficiency in understanding special process operations such as brazing, soldering, welding, and coating. 

  • General knowledge of electrical components and test methods. 

  • Specific knowledge in Receiving, Electrical, or Mechanical Inspection. 

  • Preferred assembly, solder, or electronics manufacturing experience. 

  • Experience in a self-directed team environment. 

  • LEAN manufacturing knowledge. 

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00/hr. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
