STS Technical Services is hiring an Inventory Control Specialist in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This is a direct hire opportunity with a growing organization offering long-term stability, great benefits, and an opportunity to make an immediate impact by supporting inventory operations and accuracy.
Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for tracking and managing inventory levels, performing cycle counts and audits, and ensuring the accuracy of all inventory data. This role plays a key part in preventing stock discrepancies, reducing waste, and maintaining operational flow. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys solving problems related to logistics and inventory systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and maintain accurate inventory levels across all systems
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits
- Reconcile discrepancies between system records and physical counts
- Input inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, and adjustments
- Inspect incoming and outgoing inventory for accuracy and quality
- Assist with inventory planning to avoid overstock or stockouts
- Monitor inventory turnover and help manage reorder points
- Collaborate with warehouse and procurement teams to resolve inventory issues
- Assist with inventory control process improvements and best practices
- Prepare inventory reports and assist during internal audits
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
- Basic understanding of inventory systems and warehouse processes
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Willingness to work in a warehouse setting and perform physical tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in a physically active environment
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations preferred
- Experience with inventory management systems is a plus
Working Conditions:
- Must be comfortable working in non-climate-controlled environments
- PPE must be worn at all times on production floors
- Standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching may be required for extended periods
