STS Technical Services is hiring a detail-oriented MRO Inventory Controller to support growing industrial maintenance repair operations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a hands-on, on-site role responsible for vendor relationships, stock accuracy, and building a modern, user-friendly inventory system.
Position Summary:
We are expanding operations and looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to keep parts and inventory under control. This role involves both strategy and floor time—meaning you’ll be just as comfortable at a workstation as you are negotiating with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Build and manage physical spare parts inventory for multiple industrial maintenance locations
- Develop and oversee inventory control using a modern CMMS
- Collaborate with maintenance and purchasing teams to order parts for both stock and urgent machine-down situations
- Research and evaluate existing and new vendors
- Monitor and adjust critical path items as needed
- Perform hands-on inventory tasks and ensure stock data accuracy
Required Qualifications:
- Proven negotiation and decision-making skills
- Strong organizational habits and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of purchasing operations and protocols
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with MRO practices in industrial settings
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- Experience using ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
- Background in manufacturing purchasing
- Familiarity with MaintainX or other modern CMMS platforms
