V2X is growing! V2X is looking for a Machine Parts Inspector to join our team!

The successful candidate will perform detailed inspections on a wide variety of precision and complex in-process and finished machined parts, highly complex components, castings, forgings, fabricated sheet metal parts, and hardware that is produced in-house and/or supplied by vendors.


  • Mechanical inspection of parts including first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Documenting inspection results accurately and completely by completing forms, logs, and reports.
  • Ensuring that all required process operations have been performed on the product that is being inspected.
  • Verification of materials and processes and verification of certifications from sub-tier vendors.
  • Performance of various other quality functions as required to ensure the timely delivery of precision machined parts to the customer.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety of the work area, including proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent damage or loss.
  • Assist in training other inspectors.
  • Related work including calibration of inspection tools, and development and enforcement of quality systems procedures necessary to satisfy ISO, military, and customer specifications.
Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 6 years mechanical inspection and/or machining experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5, including performing measurements of size, form, and position within a coordinate system containing multiple datums.
  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting complex drawings, specifications, and standard work instructions.
  • Must be proficient in performing advanced job shop mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to use basic measurement hand-tools such as scales, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, surface plate, and Optical Comparator.
  • The candidate must have (or be able to develop) the necessary level of computer proficiency for recording inspection results in ERP tools such as SAP / PRISM / STORM / iMRO, and to use these software programs to process and disposition Inspection Lots associated with Production Orders.
  • Candidate must be able to understand and comply with all safety and quality procedures relevant to the work area, including ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) requirements, FOD (Foreign Object Damage) elimination, and use of PPE.
  • The candidate must possess excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to perform to time deadlines in support of scheduled production requirements.
  • Must be able to follow written instructions and to work with little to no supervision.
  • Candidate must exhibit good teamwork and communication skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • The candidate may be required to pass specific visual acuity tests related to the work they are performing.
  • Requires bending, reaching and lifting of objects within V2X EHSS guidelines.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance if required.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with requirements of an AS9100 based quality system.
