Our Asheville, NC team is looking to hire Highly Skilled Machinists in the manufacturing of complex rotating jet engine components, working with exotic aerospace alloys on some of the latest CNC machine tools in a clean, temperature-controlled facility. You will receive training to achieve necessary certifications on required processes to set you up for success and ensure that you are working at required quality levels. You will also work with teams to identify and implement process improvement opportunities resulting in improved quality and product flow.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 1 year of full-time work experience, or an associate degree or higher in a manufacturing or engineering discipline (for example, Computer Integrated Machining or Engineering Technology)
  • Computer Numerical Controlled machining using milling, turning, and grinding processes

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand process operation sheets, tooling sheets, tech plans, blueprints and associated documents and ability to correctly gauge parts and record dimensions (understand IRDs)
  • Successfully complete applicable special processes and operator certification requirements
  • Use measuring equipment, such as micrometers, caliper and gauges and understand Part Process Flow (incoming / outgoing)
  • Change and reset tooling
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks and have manual dexterity

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience or training utilizing a combination of blueprints and work instructions to produce machine parts
  • Demonstrated ability with computer systems
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
  • Successfully complete applicable special processes and operator certification requirements
