        Job: Manufacturing Operator

        Shift: Monday-Friday 11:30pm-7:00am

        Key Responsibilities:

        Under the direction of supervision or working leader you will work from verbal, written or computer-generated instructions. Plan and perform a variety of specialized processes. You will need to have knowledge of shop mathematics and read work instructions. Verify conformances of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Maintain Operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts. Maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM). You will perform minor repairs on equipment where applicable. These repairs include but are not limited to the following:

        Working from quality review and corrective work documents, or other similar instructions, to rework or repair parts, adapting existing or modified tooling, methods and techniques as required.

        Assisting engineers and others in developing new or changed operations.

        Performing routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions (such as operator’s checklist for upkeep) to assure equipment operates properly.

        Referring any difficulties to leader or supervisor.

        You are required to be flexible around shifts, including overtime, for training and to maintain workflow. We look for responsibility to handle multiple significant priorities at a time. You may be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.

        Basic Qualifications:

        0-1 years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+years related experience.

        High School or GED

        U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

        Preferred Qualifications:

        Experience with metal finishing methods, spray coating/paint application, machining, grinding, and/or welding.

        Experience with computerized machine operation.

        Experience with precision measuring instruments such as feeler gauges, verniers, calipers and micrometers.

        Knowledge of arithmetic involving decimals and fractions

        Understand and follow oral and written instructions concerning work methods and procedures.

        Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

        Basic computer skills

        Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime.

        Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

        Additional Information:

        Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

        Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

        Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

        Pratt & Whitney North Berwick is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 4

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
