Synopsis
The purpose of this role is to ensure systems compliance and data integrity across all SAP line items, enabling accurate spend tracking and procurement execution. The role supports end-to-end material data governance including classification of safety-critical and dangerous goods, contributing to operational safety and purchasing efficiency
Accountabilities
Material Master Data Governance
- Manage creation, classification, and ongoing maintenance of all material and service master data in SAP, using the United Nations Standard Products and Services Codes (UNSPSC).
- Apply standardized naming conventions, units of measure, and material groups to ensure consistency across procurement, finance, and warehouse systems.
- Verify data accuracy and completeness prior to order placement or contract linkage.
Compliance & Classification Management
- Ensure compliance with Harmonized System (HS) codes, customs regulations, and ATLP/Abu Dhabi Customs requirements.
- Identify and flag safety-critical materials and dangerous goods in accordance with Abu Dhabi Dangerous Goods Guidelines and ADOSH Code of Practice.
- Maintain traceability and safety documentation for all regulated materials.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with Category Managers, Procurement Officers, and Warehouse/Engineering teams to validate material specifications, usage, and risk classifications.
- Support engineering and warehouse teams with stock level optimization, periodic stock counts, and disposal programs.
- Liaise with Finance to ensure alignment between material data, cost centres, and accounting structures.
Reporting & Data Analytics
- Work with the Procurement Analytics Coordinator to generate categorized spend reports and dashboards.
- Support data validation for supplier and spend analysis initiatives.
- Ensure that all data modifications are reflected in procurement reports and dashboards in real time.
Continuous Improvement & Documentation
- Develop and maintain master data procedures and work instructions for company-wide adoption.
- Identify process gaps and lead improvement initiatives in master data governance.
- Support implementation of new system functionalities and automation opportunities in SAP and Ariba.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in SAP material data management or procurement operations.
- Solid knowledge of material coding, HS classification, and regulatory frameworks in the UAE.
- Experience with inventory control and stock governance preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Ariba) and MS Office tools.
