Overview

The Material Quality Inspector ensures that all parts and materials brought into the system for the support and maintenance of aircraft are serviceable, airworthy, and quality standards are maintained throughout the entire receiving process. The tasks required for this role include the inspection of parts, assemblies, chemicals, tooling and materials for conformance to specifications, verification of quantities, part number of items received to ensure completeness and accuracy of order, and the certification paperwork for compliance with FAA, EASA and other regulatory agencies, including Atlas Air company requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Determine if all parts and materials are serviceable or unserviceable per the requirements of the General Maintenance Manual and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Inspect incoming material for conformance to purchase order requirements, engineering orders, service bulletins and in accordance with Atlas Air receiving inspection procedures
  • Verify that received products meet the requirements of process standards and specifications and are free of defects.
  • Document anomalies and non-conformances.
  • Obtain and maintain all process certification required for assigned tasks.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as necessary and/or directed by Manager.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
  • A&P license required
  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 2+ years aviation or airline experience in the field of Quality Control or Quality Assurance
  • 3-5 years of experience in Final and In-Process Inspection of aircraft detail parts and structural assemblies.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software (TRAX, Oracle, or SAP)
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Open to operating in a collaborative environment
  • Open to a dynamic work schedule that may require changes as operations dictate
  • Must possess integrity, honesty and strong work ethic

Required Skills:

  • Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, etc.)
  • Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Strong ability to read and comprehend technical data and drawings

Salary Range: $51,500- $69,000

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset."
