Job Description

  • The Lead Coordinator will ensure the list of issued material across applicable engines is communicated to the Production Leader, Technician Lead, and Materials team. Will update the Production Control Cell Board/Materials Board as applicable.

  • Manage the field job materials coordination. Prep/issue/order material for applicable kits, or various overnight demands as required.

  • Push to address SAP help tickets during these hours as it aligns with SAP Support Team.

  • Assist the material fulfillment function including managing critical material reviews with external vendors and the GE MRO network. Work for quick resolution to support the On Wing Support (OWS) site with a strong sense of urgency. 

  • Practice an effective inventory management strategy that assures site inventory levels are kept at lean levels which still support shop operations. Assist with regular cycle counts.  Help manage inventory and participate in process improvements initiatives. 

  • Complete that days receiving/inspection as needed if there is any carried over.

  • Support quarterly cycle counts during slow-moving Inventory time.

  • Ensure engine inbound/outbound movements are up to current for the given day.

  • Spot check audits within the stockroom bins to ensure 8130 compliance.

  • Manage stock returns; re-bin or re-issue material as needed

  • Create order demand in SAP including creation/duplication of internal material demand with both internal and external sources. Use discretion on bulk ordering to decrease number of purchase orders issued and number of packages to receive. Order consumables as well as execute indirect sourcing via SSS (i.e., shop and office supplies).

  • Manage initial Gate 1 material pull sheets; address discrepancies on the spot and place purchase orders for discrepant material as needed.

  • Assist with Gate 2 processes (repair and kitting cycle) through liaison with technicians, production and planning teams. Unpackage incoming shipments, assist with receiving aviation materials in site ERP, prepare outgoing packages for shipment, including creation of shipping labels with various shipping companies. Physically prep assets to ship and receive (i.e., direct material, indirect material, tooling, consumables).   Verify that all incoming and outgoing parts/ materials/ components comply with local and GE Aerospace quality system standards.

  • Visually examine materials and accompanying paperwork for defects and sort articles according to extent of defect. Accurately identify part numbers, serial numbers, and quantities and assure all match the accompanying paperwork.

  • Physically dispose of scrap hardware and/or low demand/obsolete inventory.

  • Understand import/export/ITC requirements. Create commercial invoices for parts/tools/materials coming into our going out of the facility

  • Use powered equipment to complete the necessary tasks, such as a sit-down forklift.

  • Comply with safety requirements, complete training per schedule, participate in investigations and read-across as requested, promptly identify safety issues, work with team to pursues solutions, and escalate issues.

  • Participate in assessments, read across and PFMEAs to identify and understand sources of defects.  Promptly identify and escalate risks to leadership and work with team on solutions. 

  • Participate in LEAN events and apply learnings to daily activity.  Apply and improve upon standard work in area of responsibility.  Identify sources of waste and customer dissatisfaction, escalate to leadership team and work among the team to find solutions.

  • Perform additional duties as needed

  • This is not a supervisory position; this role is intended to provide work direction and guidance related to third shift materials coordination.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree or High School diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Aerospace, Warehouse, Logistics and/or Distribution Operations required.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Availability to work flexible shift patterns as required, including weekends and holidays

  • Ability and willingness to support calls during off-hours when emergency situations arise. GE On Wing Support is a 24 / 7 / 365 operation.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Previous experience leading a team desired.

  • Proven leadership experience leading initiatives of moderate scope and impact.

  • Features strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including problem-solving ability.

  • Holds previous materials and inventory experience and international field experience.

  • Knowledge of import, export, customs, and dangerous goods requirements. 

  • Knowledge of SAP ERP system, specifically the “Materials Module”.  Ability to demonstrate required knowledge of the ERP to ensure compliance with company materials processes and maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Approaches work with a “can-do” attitude and a sense of commitment to both the team and customer objectives

  • Possess a desire to learn and grow with technology advancements and new engine models.
