Essential Responsibilities
Ships components and/or finished products within and outside facility.
Performs basic tasks related to material handling in various stages of manufacturing including but not limited to counting, bagging, tagging, packing and shipping of materials
Operate Forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items safely and efficiently
Validates cycle counts and paperwork including reconciliation of discrepant counts
Manual transfer of material between processes and/or locations
Provides training and mentoring for other employees as required
Coordinates logistics and 3rd party transportation
Performs other routine procedures within similar situations resulting in standardized but not identical outcomes
Utilizes written or visual instructions based on standard operating procedures
Provide written and/or oral communications concerning a variety of situations
Assists in physical inventory counts
Keeps workstation, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly manner
Understands and complies with all safety rules and regulations
Engages and participates in a self-directed teaming environment
Maintain accurate work records.
Support our team concept and learn/perform other duties as required.
Communicate effectively and professionally with others.
Follow and promote safe work practices.
Support LEAN initiatives.
Lift light to medium weight in an environment that may occasionally require crouching, stooping and/or awkward work positions.
Requirements include.
High School diploma or equivalent.
1+ year of warehouse and or manufacturing shop material management.
1+ year of data entry and retrieval into a material management or formal ERP system
Basic computer skill
Previous fork truck driving experience or the ability to be trained and licensed to operate fork trucks and pallet moving equipment safely
Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
Must be willing to stand for long periods of time.
Skills required in simple mathematical counting
Desirable characteristics
Fork-Lift Driver License and experience
Truck loading experience
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in a self-directed teaming environment
Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement knowledge
Valid drivers license
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
