Job Summary

The Facilities Buyer will procure material/services and manage suppliers in accordance with the defined strategies, by optimizing the total cost and ensuring compliance of the purchased items. The Buyer must include maintaining Strategic Relationships with existing and future Suppliers, whilst ensuring requirements are met on time and in accordance with the appropriate quality standards, delivering a highly capable and cost effective supply base, other areas of Supply Chain management when required.
 

Job Responsibilities
  • Reviews and approves purchase orders.
  • Establish and approves sources of materials, services, and supplies and equipment. 
  • Receives quotation and maintain grading system for materials, services and supplies
  • Generate purchase orders for materials, services, and supplies
  • Meet with vendors and suppliers
  • Ensure self-develop in the field of Procurement
  • Corrects discrepancy purchase orders
  • Support efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development
  • Ensure leveraging synergies across the GKN global network

Required Qualifications:

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Supply Chain / Procurement Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years supporting a Facilities/Maintenance Department
  • Must be fluent (speaking and reading) the English Language
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Ability to interact with people of different levels inside/ outside the company and to operate within a team to reach team goals and business objectives
  • Ability to empower others to achieve results through motivation, recognition and performance feedback.
  • Ability to express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people & to lead and close out negotiations.
  • Ability to recognize, respond to customer expectations with sense of urgency.
  • Ability to take full responsibility for decisions & results even when all elements are not under individual direct control.
  • Experience in implementing industry leading best practices.
  • Proven ability in strategy deployment.
  • Proven project management techniques.
Compensation Range

The compensation range for this role is between $73,244 - $91,556 annually.
