Direct Hire Repair Technician Opportunity
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the machine repair industry to hire a Repair Technician for a direct hire opportunity in McKinney, TX. If you are an experienced electronics professional who takes pride in precision, quality, and mission-driven work, this role offers the chance to support technology that plays a critical role in election operations across the country.
Position Summary
As a Repair Technician, you will perform warranty and non-warranty repairs on customer RMA equipment, test incoming inventory from contract manufacturers, and prepare machines for customer deployment. Your work ensures reliable, high-performing equipment that customers depend on for secure and accurate election processes.
This role directly supports product integrity, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction in a highly impactful industry.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Electronic Repair & Troubleshooting
Perform electronic repairs in accordance with company engineering standards
Diagnose equipment issues and determine required repairs
Identify warranty vs. non-warranty repairs and manage accordingly
Coordinate with contract manufacturers for products under CM warranty
Document service codes and maintain accurate repair records
Report hardware issues to the engineering team and coordinate resolution
Assist with special testing projects as directed
Testing & Quality Assurance
Test all incoming and outgoing equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with specifications
Support quality management processes
Document repair and maintenance policies and procedures
Operations & Inventory Support
Assist with shipping and receiving, including unloading deliveries and verifying materials
Match purchase orders to sales orders
Support inventory management and annual year-end inventory
Prepare machines for customer orders
Assist with field services projects as needed
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent electronics certification
Minimum of 5 years of experience performing electronic equipment repairs
Advanced knowledge of electronic diagnostic tools and repair techniques
Strong soldering skills
Experience working within a quality management process
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
Willingness to travel up to 10 as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven industries
Strong mechanical aptitude for handling and repairing tools and equipment
Demonstrated ability to implement corrective and preventive actions
Experience supporting inventory and warehouse operations
Work Environment
This position is based on-site in McKinney, TX in a warehouse environment with moderate dirt, heat, and noise. The role requires equal amounts of standing, walking, sitting, lifting, and pushing/pulling equipment.
Compensation & Benefits
$20–$25 per hour, depending on experience
