Job Summary

Accountable for local operational procurement and assigned non-strategic sourcing for the geographical area under his / her responsibility. Senior Buyer applies to a role within a larger site or oversees a cluster of smaller sites. This role takes ownership of a larger spend, a wider variety of suppliers and can execute their objectives with little supervision. Responsible for in-contract modifications, transfers or new products; ensuring products are sourced at competitive prices in line with aerospace commodity/category strategy. Management of supplier delivery for parts/services sourced as modifications, transfers or new products until FAI is achieved. 
 

Job Responsibilities

•    Responsible for reporting procurement activity and site reviews for suppliers / commodities under his / her responsibility
•    Responsible for placing and managing purchase orders for assigned suppliers /commodity which can include raw materials, services and indirect product.  
•    Support commodity/category managers for the geographic region supplier selection RFQ / RFP with the use of E-Sourcing tools
•    Support parts / supplier transfers and industrialization
•    Drive implementation of global / regional agreements to  within geographic area to suppliers within their responsibility
•    Responsible for the transfer of parts from PO to Schedule including the negotiation of moving from Schedule to consignment
•    Responsible for all PO demands placed upon suppliers to ensure that Key Objectives of cost, quality and delivery are secured
•    Responsible for site procurement change control, export control and ITAR
•    Responsible for ensuring item / contract data is updated and maintained
•    Responsible for the flow down of enabled customer materials, pricing and skyline forecasts to Suppliers
•    Responsible for developing and supporting site cost reduction opportunities and supplier development plans in-line with business requirements.
•    Responsible for supplier risk including use of rate readiness templates and awareness of Dunn & Bradstreet for financials
•    Responsible for Managing Raw Material Inventory levels for Purchase Order parts in line with program targets and start dates.
•    Responsible for the resolution of Invoice queries related to pricing
•    Be an escalation point for any cost / contractual issues with Suppliers working with commodity management where further escalation is required.

Job Requirements:
Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

•     4-year degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering
•     7+ years extensive purchasing experience, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment
•     7+ years of working with terms, conditions, and contract management
•     A minimum of 5 years utilizing supplier relationship management skills
 
Preferred Qualifications:    

•    GKN experience
•    Knowledge of specific operations required manufacturing products, type of equipment required and associated cost factors. 
•    Ability to read and understand blueprints and written detailed specifications and have in-depth knowledge of procurement policies and procedures related to Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DAR), buyer/seller legal responsibilities and common industry standards, practices and requirements applying to technical considerations of goods and services procured. 
•    Worked in a systemized purchasing environment and be familiar with Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
•    Supply chain and lean manufacturing integration with suppliers and operations.
•    A high-level of perseverance, persuasion and professional leadership abilities.
•    Have knowledge of financial principles, manufacturing technology within commodity base and supply base gap analysis
 

Compensation Range

The Compensation range for this position is 73,600-92,000.
