Morson are exclusively recruiting for CNC Machinists to join one of our top aerospace and defence clients based in the Bristol area.

All contracts are 6 months Initially although likely to be long-term/temp to permanent.

7 Day Fort Day shift

Week One- Mon Tues Fri Sat Sun 57.5 Hours
Week Two- Weds Thurs 23 hours

Hours- 6am to 6pm

Night Shift Hours

Monday – Wednesday 8pm-6am, Thursday 8.30-6.00am

Rate 21.76 per hour Skilled no stamp – pay rate the same for overtime in the week
Weekend overtime 25.50
(Period on days whilst training may be required – pay rate would be 17.00)

MUST HAVE 3 YEARS aerospace experience if no apprenticeship paperwork

Machinist Role Purpose (experience required flexible)

To manufacture aircraft components from composite materials, using the latest technology CNC machinery which meets aircraft design drawing requirements.
• Manufacture, machine, measure, test and assemble aircraft components from composite and metallic materials, up to 15m in length, which are fully traceable, using automated machinery.
• Use of CNC rout machines, 5 Axis Zimmerman drilling and fettling gantry machines and jigged vacuum fixtures.
• Use of Renishaw probing equipment.
• Use of cutter tool setting equipment.
• Experience of loading and setting fixtures and tooling in CNC machines.
• Ideally with Siemens 840D control system experience – not essential
• Understanding of aircraft drawings, limits and quality systems
• Self motivated and with good communication skills.
• Able to work in small teams led by Process Team Leaders.
• Served a recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience in composite or aircraft environment.
• Embrace lean manufacture, waste reduction and improvement initiatives.
• Work in accordance with Health & Safety requirements, including relevant risk, COSHH and safe systems of work.
• Undertake training in advanced composite manufacturing techniques & processes.
