The vision of Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division is to be the global leader in the design, development, manufacture, and service of engine fuel, lubrication, and thermal management systems and components for aerospace/defense and industrial applications. POSITION SUMMARY
Perform a variety of entry level Purchasing tasks and projects in an Aerospace manufacturing environment that services both commercial and military customers. Position will perform short term daily tasks associated with purchasing, and long term projects related to a variety of purchasing functions.Candidate will interact with other Supply Chain functions, Operations team members and other Administrative/support functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience: Enrolled/progressing to a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, or equivalent
- Competency in grade-appropriate college level math. Studies in statistics, accounting, and analytics a plus.
- Technical writing skills
- Prior work experience in an office and/or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to self-manage projects-experience leading projects or groups a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Moderate proficiency in Microsoft business application software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc ; Willing to learn operation of ERP/MRP applications associated with assigned tasks, and other software tools used at Parker Devens.
- Willing to learn and follow any regulatory or Parker policy requirements associated with assignments
- Possess good time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently-both short term and longer duration tasks and projects.
- Ability to communicate with others effectively in writing and in verbal one-on-one and group settings
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic financial reports a plus.
- Ability to gather information from a variety of sources, generate inferences based on the data, and formulate answers to the problem or assignment
TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the primary duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk. Very rarely will they need to lift <25lbs. The employee frequently is required to use hands to operate a computer and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the employee is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
This position requires split work time between the shop floor and office environments-including adherence to Parker Hannifin Corp. Health and safety rules and policies
