Job Responsibilities
- Carry out routine visits to suppliers to maintain up to date understanding of supplier activity, product technology and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain an assessment of the supplier’s on-going capacity capability.
- Regularly monitor the quality and delivery performance of supplier and perform reviews and take actions depending on the cause of any problem (such as assessments, problem solving activities etc.) to secure continuous compliance.
- Participate with supplier quality performance monitoring, including data analysis and prioritization. Serve as the liaison for suppliers, suggest structural quality and process improvements, and collaborate with other engineers in a team environment.
- Work with procurement team to support delivery requirements and build relationships with suppliers.
- Participate with supplier quality performance monitoring, including data analysis and prioritization.
- Conduct supplier Audits
- Review Supplier First Articles
- Work on supplier escapes including root cause investigation, containment and corrective actions, participate in 8D investigations
- Final inspection of products at supplier’s facility
- Perform any minor adjustments needed to part configuration to meet engineering requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a minimum of 5 years of quality-related experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an aerospace quality environment.
- Must be a US Citizen due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- GKN Experience
- Aerospace experience is strongly preferred
- Experience in a Quality Assurance role or Supply Chain role is preferred
- Knowledgeable in aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.)
- Experience in New product Introduction and interaction between Purchasing and Engineering in Product Development.
- Knowledge of AS9100 standards and PPAP, Understanding of the Aerospace industry and associated regulatory requirements and standards
- Skilled in root cause analysis, 8D and continuous improvement
- Well organized and structured with strong skills to work both independently, and in a team
- Target-oriented and outgoing with good communication skills
- Experience and skilled with Microsoft office, and ERP systems
