PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Supply Technician is responsible for the secure movement and shipment of materials through a warehouse or storage facility. Supply Tech maintains an organized accounting of inventory, check for damage of goods and implement strategies for the efficient distribution of supplies. Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures, noise, and inclement weather conditions and other conditions determined by the nature of the job. Provides support and guidance to assigned personnel in the area of the Government supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines. The Supply Tech continues to support the Arsenal mission, proactively solve problems, and deliver quality services safely in the performance of the Rock Island BOS PWS.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs administrative updates of all applicable software programs as required.
  • Be familiar with requirements for storage, including those for classified, sensitive, radioactive, hazardous, spares package, and flammable property.
  • Coordinates the movement of supplies and manages coordination of hand receipts.
  • Performs packing and shipping in accordance with all government, company and commercial packaging and hazardous material requirements.
  • Prepare shipping request, transfer documentation, and other correspondence associated with the internal tracking system components and related hardware and ensures all material is tracked.
  • Manage supply chain inventory and conduct physical inventories.
  • Maintain and keep records up to date.
  • Inspects inventory for any defects and ensures consumable assets are adequate.
  • Responsible for actions pertaining to Return To Vendor (RTV) actions.
  • Use portable radios to communicate with supervisors, and service call desk.
  • Enforces safety protocol for handling hazardous materials.
  • Responsible for timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and hazardous situations.
  • Timely completion and accuracy of all inspections and work.
  • Works closely and harmoniously with other employees.
  • Must be able to multitask. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess experience in supply chain work and compliance regarding Government contracts.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of safety, hazardous and environmental warnings.
  • Must have knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have customer service experience; routinely interact with external contacts, vendors, suppliers and team members.
  • Must be trustworthy.  
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and mitigate them.
  • Ability to provide detailed report, briefing and advise.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.  
  • Must have knowledge of supply data collection databases to include in administrative level entries.
  • Must be an excellent communicator and have fair judgement.  
  • Must be able to attend Government conferences, as required.
  • Must have experience in providing safety support in large facilities maintenance or construction projects.
  • Able a multi-tasker.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ experience of Supply Chain work in DoD Contract facility maintenance operations.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and walkways, able to complete tasks in high or confined spaces.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Projects.
  • Must be able to work on secure military facilities.
  • Must have current valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be qualified to operate a vehicle.
  • Must be able to pass a DoD background check, pass drug screening tests and obtain SECRET security clearance
