The Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Technician I shall perform munitions inspections in accordance with the Ammunition Surveillance Program, Army, State, and Federal Regulations. Assist with the inbound and outbound shipments, receipts, warehousing, and all movements within the Ammunition Supply Point locations. The technician will assist with conducting required inspections, prepare and generate documentation for Government Quality Assurance Specialist.
The technician reports to the Ammunition Supply Point section to conduct required inspections of the stockpile, initial receipt inspections, pre-issue inspections, and motor vehicle inspections (transporting hazardous materials) and surveillance of unit turn-ins. Performs industrial warehouse duties and work assignments related to movement, handling, oversight and management of stack/unstack palletized goods. Requires knowledge, experience and use of various material handling systems, equipment and vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Stock control, inventory, requisition, stock accounting, receiving, shipment, and warehousing tasks.
- Loads, unloads, and moves stock.
- Operates and performs work using general purpose trucks and power-lift trucks, and other comparable equipment
- Checks, identifies, and verifies accuracy of records and quantities of material received, stored, shipped, or issued.
- Performs Physical Inventory count of material and reports out of balance conditions.
- Update and operate Standard Army Ammunition System Modernized SCP-11 and Total Ammunition Management Information System.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen to work at Fort Sill, OK.
- Are you able to lift 90 pounds in regular performance of duties.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation.
- Three years of progressive experience in ammunition surveillance.
- Minimum of one year experience on a forklift. Use of industrial powered and mechanical material handling equipment, (side loaders, stock pickers, pallet jacks, etc.) desired.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain ammunition certification in accordance with Army Materiel Command (AMC) Regulation 350-4.
- This is a Testing Designated Position. As such, incumbent is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing, and drug testing when there is a reasonable suspicion that the incumbent uses illegal drugs.
- Position is covered by the 1998 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- Required to obtain and maintain Hazardous Materials Certification. Recertification is required every two years. Course is two weeks in duration.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
- Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent.
