ABOUT US
Since 1978 Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200C, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.
Air Inuits Management and its team of dedicated employees are committed to the companys essential mission of providing safe, timely and high-quality air service to the people living and doing business in the enchanting region of Northern Quebec.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out all of the necessary functions pertaining to the loading and unloading of cargo;
- Prepare all documents related to the cargo shipments, flight operations, and revenue accounting;
- Provide customer service for both incoming and outgoing cargo all while delivering an exceptional experience;
- All other duties deemed necessary by the company in order to ensure the effectiveness of the operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Secondary 5 or equivalent;
- Ability to communicate in at least 2 of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English;
- Reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure in a physically challenging environment;
- Hold of a valid driving licence;
- Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations an asset;
- Experience as a cargo agent or cargo handler will be considered an asset;
- Experienced in driving forklifts;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Available to travel occasionally for training;
- Available to work evenings, nights and weekends;
- If the position is filled locally, the work location will be Kuujjuaq;
- If the position is not filled locally, the candidate will be considered as having no specific base.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Rotational – 2 weeks of work followed by 2 weeks OFF
REMUNERATION
The remuneration package and associated benefits will be in accordance with corporate policies.
