Job Title: GSE MechanicJob Description
Join a team that values expertise in mechanical testing and troubleshooting. As a GSE Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance repairs on Ground Support Equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment such as baggage carts and deicing units.
Responsibilities
- Perform light and heavy repairs on Ground Support Equipment.
- Diagnose and repair engine mechanical issues including diesel, gas, and LP engines.
- Troubleshoot A/C and D/C electrical systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Repair hydraulic systems and read hydraulic flow schematics.
- Utilize computer software for diagnosing Powertrain Management Systems.
- Repair 80 and 48 volt DC systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair Airstart systems.
- Engage in ongoing training to enhance equipment knowledge.
- Maintain required productivity levels.
- Accurately complete vehicle repair orders in a timely manner.
Essential Skills- Minimum of 2+ years experience in mechanical testing and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in reading schematics.
- Ability to perform electrical testing and troubleshooting.
- Possession of a basic set of tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Previous GSE experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines with 3 years preferred experience.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Vocational training certificate or equivalent work experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Capability to attain an Airport issued ID badge.

Work Environment
Work in a heated hangar, ensuring comfort during winter, with large fans providing cooling in the summer. Collaborate with seven mechanics per shift, and occasionally work at an off-site location for larger projects such as full vehicle overhauls. This environment supports a dynamic and collaborative work atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, Massachusetts.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
