Position SummaryReporting to the YTH Base Maanger, the Ramp Agent is responsible for the sorting, loading and unloading of baggage, freight and equipment out of Company aircraft, focusing on the Service Level agreement to ensure that customer service is met along with on-time performance.Personal CharacteristicsHighly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environmentProfessional and respectful, with a positive work attitudeTimely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essentialMotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communitiesCustomer Service-oriented with a commitment to exceptional serviceKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesSort, load and unload baggage, freight and equipmentTow and marshall aircraft, drive and fuel equipment, de-ice aircraft, install and uninstall aircraft seats and equipment, service aircraft lavatories, ensure that airside areas are organized and cleanPerform physically-demanding tasks effectively using the safest and most efficient methods possibleEnsure that on time performance policies and procedures are met and adhered toEnsure that customer service standards are met or exceededCommunicate effectively with other Ramp Agents, the Ramp Supervisor and the Aircraft Load Coordinator to meet deadlines safely and efficientlyMonitor customer safety at all times and assist customers in a friendly and courteous mannerAdhere to and operate within safety policies, procedures and practices, attending and completing all safety trainingProvide courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, airfreight (continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage and freight)Assist Flight Crew with off-loads at various aircraft destinations as assignedProvide assistance with ramp set-up and storage of equipment and baggageComplete general warehouse duties, which may include but not limited to completing and verifying manifests, shipping and receiving, customer services, organizing fridge and freezers, cleaning and organizing the warehouse, operating forklifts, etc.Perform additional duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience and CertificationsHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalentMust possess valid driver’s licenseMust qualify for and obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator’s PermitMust be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizationsPrevious warehouse and/or Ramp experience is considered an assetPrevious aviation operation experience is considered an assetForklift license or completed applicable training considered an assetIndigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an assetWorking ConditionsPhysically able to perform all listed job dutiesTravel by aircraft and other means as required by roleWork performed in multiple environments, contact with staff and the general publicManual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephonesWork performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditionsVarious shifts and at a fast pace in order to meet service level requirements of the airlineIn good general health and able to lift and bend, carrying loads of up to 50lbsSafety equipment when and where required, e.g. hearing protection, safety vest, and applicable passes
