In Platform Operational Support, we develop the software systems and services essential to prepare, plan, execute and debrief the demanding missions accomplished with the flying platforms in our portfolio, such as Eurofighter, A400M, Eurodrone or FCAS.
Due to the increasing importance and complexity of mission planning, with the need to coordinate a growing number of mission participants and to collaborate on plans ever faster, new challenges arise for mission planning systems.
In order to master these challenges, we design a comprehensive software architecture that enables transformation of our projects into interconnected software products within a product portfolio. Is this the right challenge for you? Then become part of our team to shape this architecture.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You take responsibility for defining the comprehensive software architecture for the future mission support services and their design for a product line.
  • You identify services and their interfaces within and outside the mission cycle
  • You find and document optimal trade-offs when considering non-functional requirements such as maintainability, testability, approval, IT security for the central software architecture
  • You support and evaluate the further development of our software development environment and processes in terms of collaboration, automation, reliability and performance
  • You advise ongoing projects on the creation of road maps for their transition into the product portfolio
  • You shape communication for a common understanding of the central software architecture in the teams as a prerequisite for a successful technical transformation
  • You review individual projects&39; progress with respect to their transition road map

Desired skills and qualifications

  • You have an university degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
  • You have an interest in the processes involved in planning and conducting military air operations
  • You understand architectural patterns and have experience in their effective application
  • You have a good overview of current technologies for implementing service architectures
  • You have a talent for presenting, communicating and explaining complex technical information in a simple way
  • You have experience or interest in creating an architecture, which is compliant with public standards like the STANAGs in the NATO C3 Taxonomy
  • You have experience in developing software in compliance with aeronautical or other regulatory requirements.
  • You speak English at a negotiation level, German is an advantage

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
