Position Summary
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintain a safe workplace for self and fellow team members via compliance of safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated high mechanical aptitude and ability to meet deadlines.
- Maintain site’s calibration system and software; Perform internal calibrations as required.
- Obtain gages from the various departments to stage for outside calibration and communicate with external calibration suppliers.
- Read and interpret product specifications on incoming inspection parts.
- Perform laboratory procedures and inspection of product.
- Use multiple measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, pressure gauges, height gauges and other instruments to ensure incoming parts meet product quality and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain all quality documentation for incoming inspection.
- Sorts any defective materials and completes Material Rejected Report (MRR) to report such defects.
- Communicates defective products to lab supervisor, quality engineer, and purchasing.
- Ability to work through ambiguous situations and be detailed oriented
- Ability to work across different departments with associates at all levels and possess reasoning ability and good math skills.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to make deadlines; Troubleshoot problems as they arise
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Active particpation in Lean and High Performance Teams.
- Must be able to work overtime when required including weekends.
- Must be able to backup other Mechanincal Inspectors
- Other assignments as assigned by Management.
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS: - Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or above preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in a production manufacturing and 1 + years experience in quality control environment preferred. Experience with use of calipers, micrometers, pressure gagues, height gauges and other various measuring equipment
- Must have computer skills and experience reading and interpreting blueprints; Experience with Microsoft © Office suite – Outlook, Word, and Excel; Experience with Syteline preferred.
- Communication: For safety and quality, must be able to read, write & understand English
