Position SummaryThe Aircraft Mechanic Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction in assigned courses, ensuring that students grasp both theoretical concepts and practical applications in aircraft maintenance. In addition to teaching, the instructor manages essential administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, assessing student performance, and collaborating with management to enhance the curriculum.
This role is pivotal in fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes student success, prepares students for FAA Certification exams, and plays a key role in shaping the next generation of aviation maintenance professionals.

Minimum Requirements and QualificationsA&P or FAA license required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience)
Strong command of both theoretical and practical aspects of aircraft maintenance, with contemporary knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional development
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven, and compliance-oriented educational setting
Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized, with the capability to multitask and perform well under pressure
Demonstrate a high level of integrity, a strong work ethic, and professionalism in all interactions

Preferred Skills and QualificationsExperience in Aircraft Repair at MRO or Airline level
Previous Aircraft Maintenance training experience
Completed Gen Fams for Boeing, Airbus, and other aircraft makes and models
Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and explain aircraft structural drawings
Major Responsibility Areas and DutiesTeach classes on a scheduled basis, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that fosters student engagement and enhances learning in aircraft maintenance
Develop and refine curriculum, prepare course materials, and schedule classes, ensuring alignment with industry standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained for student use
Establish and maintain accurate academic and attendance records for each student, submitting attendance, grades, evaluations, and other documentation as required by procedures
Assist in managing the inventory of department equipment and supplies, submitting replenishment requests to the Supervisor or appropriate personnel as needed
Monitor student attendance closely, alerting the Supervisor to any absences which could lead to potential retention issues
Additional DutiesPhysical Requirements and Environmental ConditionsAbility to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time
Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a normal office environment
Ability to stand and speak to large groups of personnel for an extended amount of time
Minimal off-shift and weekend assignments may be required when needed
Ability to operate and train sheet metal fabrication and safety equipment necessary to perform the job
