The Aircraft Technician reports directly to the Director of Maintenance and works under the guidance of Aircraft Leads and Maintenance Supervisors. This position requires an appropriately certificated and stamp-holding A&P Mechanic or Repairman in accordance with FAR Part 65. The Aircraft Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and alterations on aircraft in compliance with customer processes, applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARs), and 14 CFR requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned maintenance and repair duties within the scope of certification, ensuring high-quality workmanship and efficient time management.
- Disassemble, repair, replace, and reassemble aircraft components such as landing gear, flight controls, wings, fuselage sections, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and engines.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on aircraft systems.
- Conduct structural repairs and corrosion control using approved maintenance manuals, engineering orders, and repair schemes.
- Assist in aircraft reassembly, operational checks, and return-to-service activities after major inspections.
- Conduct aircraft maintenance and modification tasks in accordance with current technical data, including manufacturer manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and company or customer procedures.
- Utilize Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs) and other technical resources as required.
- Maintain familiarity with tools, equipment, and maintenance procedures applicable to assigned tasks.
- Accurately document and sign off work performed in compliance with company procedures, regulatory standards, and customer requirements.
- Properly tag, identify, and store components removed during maintenance for later reinstallation.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are returned to storage or tool control before the end of each shift.
- Follow all safety procedures and policies outlined in company manuals and training programs.
- Operate only equipment and vehicles for which the technician is properly trained and authorized.
Qualifications:
- Valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
- 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience
- 2+ years of experience on airframe such as Boeing 737, 747, 767, and Airbus A330/A340.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical data, blueprints, and manuals.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, safety practices, and documentation standards.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and background screening.
- Must possess a complete set of personal tools appropriate for aircraft maintenance.
Pay/Schedule:
- Hourly based on experience
- Per diem split to those that qualify
- M-F 6:30am – 3:00pm
