Job Description
Seeking a skilled Blackhawk Mechanic with an A&P license to perform field maintenance on helicopters for firefighting contracts. The role involves rotating between home, hangar, and worksites, with a 12 on/12 off schedule. Opportunities exist for additional work during off rotations in the hangar, with accommodation provided. Transportation, meals, and lodging are covered, including travel to/from the worksite and home if not local. Work typically involves evening or early morning maintenance during the busy summer/fire season.
Responsibilities
- Perform field maintenance on helicopters at USFS and state fire bases in the Western US.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install components on Blackhawk helicopters.
- Maintain aircraft in field conditions for a minimum of 90 days.
- Ensure maintenance activities adhere to contract requirements.
Essential Skills
- Blackhawk experience required.
- A&P license for at least 2 years or 1 year plus TI orders in Army.
- 2+ years of UH60 maintenance within the last 3 years.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and working with H-60 helicopters.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work in field conditions.
- No tools required, but personal tools can be brought if preferred.

Work Environment
With a history spanning 25 years, the company operates from two large hangars and a well-equipped backshop. Known for refurbishing Huey helicopters for private owners and media productions, the company also manages scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for private owners. The position begins in the hangar with normal work hours of 0800 - 1700, Monday through Friday, transitioning to deployments during fire season from June through October with a 12 on/12 off schedule.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $87360.00/yr.
Benefits not provided during deployment period. If they stay on after the season, must work full-time in Olympia, non-rotational. At that point, would be eligible for:
Medical/Dental/Vision/Life:
Employer pays 90 for employee; if elected, dependents can be covered at employee expense. Eligible on the first day of the month, upon completion of 60 days of full time, permanent employment.
$30,000.00 MetLife Policy
Sick Leave: Accrued at the rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours you work, starting on 1st day of employment, can use it on the 90th day of employment and can only rollover 40 hours into the following year.
Flex 125 Plan:
Eligible on the first day of each calendar year, upon completion of 60 days of full time, permanent employment
AFLAC: Eligible on the first day of the month, upon completion of 60 days of full time, permanent employment.
401K: Must be age 21 or older, then eligible on the first day of the month, upon completion of 60 days of full time, permanent employment.
Paydays: Payday is the 7th day of each month for the previous month’s hours worked
Draws are available on the 22nd day of each month; figured by 70 of earnings to the 15th day of the current month
Per Diem and/or Expenses due are deposited on the 7th and 22nd of each month
