POSITION / OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

  • We’re seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic to support a dynamic aviation operation located in San Marcos, Texas. This facility maintains and operates a fleet of multi-engine turboprop aircraft used in both commercial and government flight operations.
  • The A&P Mechanic will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and component repairs or replacements in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures. This is a hands-on, night shift position supporting active flight operations and mission-ready aircraft.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform line maintenance, launch and recovery, and post-flight inspections on turboprop aircraft.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, including corrosion control, washing, and cleaning.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and service airframe and powerplant systems to ensure aircraft readiness and reliability.
    Assist in performing electrical, avionics, and structural repairs as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all work performed in accordance with FAA and company standards.
  • Maintain accountability for tools, parts, and consumables through proper tracking and control procedures.
  • Support fellow technicians and collaborate effectively with maintenance leads and supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development
  • Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned to meet operational demands

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Minimum 3+ years of turboprop maintenance experience.
  • Experience working under FAA Part 135 regulations preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with the following aircraft highly desirable:
    • Embraer EMB-120
    • De Havilland Dash 8-200
    • King Air 300
    • Twin Otter
  • Proficient in phase and line maintenance, electrical and avionics troubleshooting, and structural repairs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required.
  • Must possess own tools — shadowed and etched.
  • Must pass DOT drug test and background check.

DETAILS & SCHEDULE

  • Shift: Night shift (Sunday–Wednesday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM, 4×10s)
    • Initial training will occur on first shift.
  • Type: 6-month contract-to-hire
  • Pay: Hourly, based on experience (per diem split offered)
  • Overtime: As needed

    • Must be personally owned, shadowed, and etched
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment 7-year Criminal Background Check, and standard FAA DOT drug test.

  • Proof of US Citizenship.
  • MUST have basic tools/box.
