Position Purpose
This position is responsible for all aspects of dismantling, fabricating, repair, and reassembly of airframes, components, and engines on vintage aircraft for the Fighter Factory.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Perform maintenance on a variety of vintage and WWII aircraft in accordance with maintenance manuals, company policies, and FAA regulations.
- Inspect, test, replace, dismantle, alter, fabricate, repair, and reassemble aircraft components and engines using a variety of tools and equipment including precision measuring devices, pneumatic devices, electrical testing devices, general shop equipment, ground support equipment and computers.
- Perform all line maintenance functions unsupervised, at any time
- Comply with safety rules and regulations and complete aircraft documentation, as required
- Notifies Supervisor of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised deadline
- Assist in preparing vintage aircraft for special events
- Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state; maintains work area in an orderly and clean manner
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment
- Willingness to sign-off work completed by the individual as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Director.
Education/Experience/Skills
- FAA A&P License Required
- High School Diploma or GED, or equitable on-the-job experience
- 3-5 years experience on piston powered aircraft preferred
- Experience in disassembly, repair and assembly of aircraft (preference to warbird experienced applicants) structural components, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including riggings, surface controls, cockpits, landing gear and all related sub-assemblies
- Extensive experience with all associated hand tools and mechanic tools required
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance instruction manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
- Must be able to effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems, especially on vintage aircraft
- Ability to review and understand written instruction, specifications and work orders
- Manual dexterity, good decision making skills and judgment required
- Ability and willingness to work as a member of a team.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics certificate.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
