Description
Job Summary:
To repair, maintain, overhaul and troubleshoot airframes, engine systems, parts and components. Performs 100 hour and progressive inspections as well as modification work on customer aircraft. May be required to assist higher and lower grade mechanics.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of mechanical duties on various aircraft models involving diagnosis of malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft for flight and delivery to customer.
Performs turbine engine troubleshooting, inspection, repair and engine run-ups.
Conducts airframe system, component changes and systems checkout.
Performs installation of service bulletins and kits on airframes and engines.
Requires knowledge of 100 hour, annual and progressive inspection procedures set forth in FAR 43.
Uses equipment such as tensiometers, micrometers, pressure gauges, dial gauges, vacuum gauges, timing lights, and a variety of hand tools to repair or modify systems or assemblies.
Responsible only for own work.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education:
- Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification, plus A&P license.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of 3 years aircraft maintenance experience including diversified jet, turboprop, piston, modification, 100 hour and annual service experience.
Preferred experience in a customer service facility performing inspections and repair of aircraft.
Working Conditions:
- Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to exposure to noise and weather elements.
