As an A&P Mechanic III, you will be responsible for repairs, replacement and maintenance of the key components of aircrafts. Youll perform the necessary checks in regards to the mechanical and functional components of the aircraft, including the testing of and replacement of defective or faulty parts. Youll use a variety of tools and equipment to perform diagnosis on parts to be replaced, and ensure repairs and maintenance are compliant with national and international standards of work, all while maintaining safety and cleanliness of the hanger or workshop. You will demonstrate knowledge in one of the three main components of aviation maintenance including airframe maintenance, power plant mechanics, or Airframe & Power plant (A&P) components.

Additionally, you will be performing heavy maintenance on a Bombardier -8 Q-200 to include removal and installation of flight controls such as landing gear, ailerons, and elevators. You will be responsible for all documentation of associated tasks that it is completed in its entirety.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for repairs, replacement and maintenance of the key components of aircrafts
  • You will perform the necessary checks in regards to the mechanical and functional components of the aircraft, including the testing of and replacement of defective or faulty parts
  • You will use a variety of tools and equipment to perform diagnosis on parts to be replaced
  • You will ensure repairs and maintenance are compliant with national and international standards of work
  • You will maintain safety and cleanliness of the hanger or workshop
  • You will demonstrate advanced knowledge in the main components of aviation maintenance including airframe maintenance, power plant mechanics, or Airframe & Power plant (A&P) components

Must-haves:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and at typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
    • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
    • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
  • Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines
  • Must have own tools in good working order (required tool list will be provided prior to start)
  • Must be able to pass an occupational physical that includes a hearing and vision test
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience
  • Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
  • Experience performing heavy maintenance on a Bombardier -8 Q-200
  • Proficient in basic computer operation

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $32.25 - $44.35. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
