About the Role

The A&P Mechanic – Avionics Technician supports GPA’s rapidly growing avionics installation and upgrade services. This role will focus primarily on avionics integration and aircraft electrical systems, while supporting general maintenance as needed.

You’ll work closely with our Director of Maintenance to deliver exceptional service, precision workmanship, and a premier customer experience.

What You’ll Do

Avionics Installation & Technical Work

  • Perform avionics installations, equipment upgrades, and system integrations
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on aircraft electrical, communication, and navigation systems
  • Complete wiring fabrication, routing, and termination to OEM and FAA standards
  • Assist with testing, configuration, and documentation of installed equipment
  • Ensure work meets Part 145 repair station procedures and quality standards

Aircraft Maintenance Support

  • Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance on piston aircraft (primarily GA fleet)
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logbook entries and work order documentation
  • Support safe, clean, and compliant shop operations

Customer Service & Team Collaboration

  • Communicate professionally with aircraft owners, pilots, and the maintenance team
  • Uphold safety, service, and punctuality standards in every task
  • Contribute to continuous improvement as we grow our avionics capabilities
Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required
  • Knowledge of aircraft electrical systems and avionics installation techniques
  • Experience with Garmin, Avidyne, and/or other GA avionics systems preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, technical, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to high-quality workmanship, safety, and customer care
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with strong follow-through

Note: Candidates with strong installation interest and aptitude will be considered — avionics-specific training available for the right individual.
